Marc Gasol Should See Bump In Production Tonight
With Zach Randolph set to miss the Grizzlies game against the Nets tonight, Marc Gasol should end up with some huge numbers. The Spanish star has been consistently averaging about 15 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this NBA season. That is with Randolph eating up a lot of space in the paint and grabbing a lot of available rebounds.
So I would expect Gasol to have a huge game on the boards tonight and for Memphis to blow out the lowly Nets (the worst team in the NBA).

NBA Stars Of The Night
Zach Randolph, Memphis. Randolph had a monster game with 31 points and 25 rebounds to help the Grizzlies beat the Knicks. Over the last five games he is averaging 23 points and 13.6 rebounds. Lets just say he has justified his All Star selection. Teammate Marc Gasol almost had a triple double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.
Deron Williams, Utah. Williams led the Jazz to a blow out of the Rockets with 35 points, 13 assists and 7 rebounds. He hit all four of his three point shots and it was his fifth straight game with at least 11 assists.
Nicolas Batum, Portland. Batum came out of nowhere with 31 points in a win over Minnesota. He also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The point total was more than his previous two best performances this season combined.
NBA Dud Of The Night
Richard Hamilton, Detroit. Hamilton shot 6-of-19 from the field in a loss to the Warriors. This comes a game after a 5-for-17 shooting night. His field goal percentage for the season is dangerously close to the 40% mark. The question is whether his drop in performance has more to do with age or the fact that he no longer has Chauncey Billups to set up his shots.
International Player Of The Night
Marc Gasol, Spain. Gasol just missed a triple double for the Grizzlies with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. He seems to be alternating between great shooting nights and poor ones. The game before this 10-15 shooting, Gasol shot 3-for-10 against Charlotte.

Marc Gasol Almost Perfect In Win
Marc Gasol hit ten of eleven shots from the field in a Grizzlies win over the Wizards. The Memphis center had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Over the last five games he is hitting over 60% of his field goals.
The Grizzlies were also helped by All-Star forward Zach Randolph and his 22 points and 9 rebounds and Rudy Gay who had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Gasol continues to play consistently this season and his team has leveled off right at the .500 record mark. They are a young team who probably doesn’t have the juice to make a run at the NBA Playoffs this season, but they have enough talent to become post season regulars as early as next season.

NBA Stars Of The Night
Zach Randolph, Memphis. In a win over the Lakers, Randolph scored 22 points with 17 rebounds to trump Kobe Bryant and his 44 points. The veteran leadership he supplies is carrying the Grizzlies to new heights. I really hope that the 28 year old forward takes advantage of this opportunity to rewrite his legacy over the next few years.
Deron Williams, Utah. Williams had 18 points, 15 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in a win over Dallas. The Jazz are playing great right now and on a six game winning streak. In this last 3 games, Deron is averaging 20 points and 11 assists. The debate over who is better, him or Chris Paul, seems to be legitimate right now. They are both playing at a high level.
Andrew Bogut, Milwaukee. Bogut led the Bucks to a win over Miami with 22 points and 11 rebounds on only 13 shots from the field. In the last five games (four of them wins), he is averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2.2 blocks.
NBA Dud Of The Night
Antawn Jamison, Washington. Jamison shot 2-for-17 from the field against the Celtics. Over the last five games he is shooting under 40%. Even though his shooting touch is off, the Wizards need Antawn to take a lot of shots due to the suspension of Gilbert Arenas. This means poor shot selection for the usually disciplined forward.
International Player Of The Night
Dirk Nowitzki, Germany. The Maverick’s star forward had 28 points and 8 rebounds in the loss. He has hit 38 of his last 39 free throws, getting himself within shouting distance of 90% on the season. Nowitzki is having his worst rebounding season in the last 11 years, but all his other stats look very good.
