Hottest Actresses in an Apocalypse Movie
If the world is about to end then these are the ladies we wish we were spending our last moments with. Below is a list of the hottest actresses in an end of the world movie.
Sarah Polley- Dawn of the Dead (2004)

I bet the zombies really wanted a piece of her flesh. If I ever contract some kind of infection that causes me to aimlessly wander around I’m going straight for her.
Renee Russo- Outbreak (1995)

I think I’m feeling feverish. Hey Renee do you think you can tuck me into bed? Renee Russo is a very sexy lady and she has tamed many a leading man. Bad monkey!!
Olivia Williams- Postman (1997)

Kevin Costner always makes sure that he gets to make out with a hot chick in his movies. This was no exception. Olivia was beautiful as well as strong in this movie.
Beatrice Rosen- 2012 (2009)

When you’re a billionaire you can afford nice things. Like the beautiful Beatrice Rosen. She has also appeared in Dark Knight and Charmed.
Liv Tyler- Armageddon (1998)

Her eyes are hypnotizing. Too bad she had to make out with Ben Affleck in the film. That alone takes a few points away from Liv. Her father, Steven Tyler, penned the award winning song for this movie.
Emmy Rossum- The Day After Tomorrow (2004)

That smile can keep you warm in the worst weather. She is more well known for her role in The Phantom of the Opera. Surprisingly she has not had a whole slew of roles. Come on producers, get on the ball.
Vivica A Fox- Independence Day (1996)

Perhaps the best “almost world ending” movie of all times also has one of the hottest actresses. Vivica is ageless. She is still sexy into her 40’s.

V: 2nd Episode Notes
Just got done watching the second episode of V and I was very impressed. Although I would have preferred the first two episodes airing in one night, I thought night number two followed up the pilot perfectly and my gripes against a one hour series premiere are all but forgotten. Here are a few notes I made about tonights show.
Where is Willie?
Remember the lovable Willie (Robert Englund) from the first series. He was naive and really kind of a poor excuse for a Visitor. However we loved him. He has been replaced so far by Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut) who is definitely a good guy (we think), but isn’t so wussy. His resistance against his own kind does not seem in doubt, but the consequences of him being a traitor make him question his role.
Leaders of the Resistance?
So far it isn’t completely clear who is going to lead the resistance. Right now Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell), Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) look like sure bets to lead the charge against alien infiltration.
Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) will probably play a role in the resistance as he seems destined to be the Mike Donovan (Marc Singer) role from the first series. Right now though he seems conflicted between telling the “whole truth” and staying on Anna’s good side.
Politics as Usual
In the original series it seemed as though the world governments immediat-ely accepted the Visitors as equals. In the new series the U.S. and other countries seem to take the realistically careful approach and only allow for a few of the aliens to acquire visa’s. When we are finally visited by real aliens I hope we take this same careful but trusting approach.
Hope you all enjoyed the show as much as I did. Let me know what thoughts you have on the second episode.

V (80’s) just as corny as rest of the decade

The new V series on ABC may have the same basic story as the original series, but what it doesn’t have is the corny feel. Do you remember the first videos on MTV?
“Video Killed The Radio Star” and “Whip It” were ridiculous, yet fun additions to rock-n-roll history. People who didn’t live in that era may look at songs like that (as well as most of the music from that time) and wonder what the hell possessed us to listen to it.
I think the same can be said for shows like V. It looks awful by today’s standards. The acting is pretty horrible. To say the plot has holes is like saying the Olsen twins need to gain a “couple” of pounds.
I remember an episode where Mike Donovan (Marc Singer) goes aboard the Mother Ship to look for a disc that contained a list of rebels. It didn’t occur to either him or Juliet Parish (Faye Grant) that they would be easily recognizable. It would be like Osama bin Laden trying to walk through the streets of New York, some one would notice him and he would be captured.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the original TV series (though the production value of the TV series was a complete downgrade from the 1983 mini-series), but watching it again right before the pilot of the new series made me realize how much science fiction as a whole has grown up. The same corny shows like “Flash Gordon” and “The Greatest American Hero” would never survive today, we are too sophisticated to accept something like that.
Our movies are darker now (just look at the late 80’s Batman movies compared to the ones today). We want our villains to be complicated, no easy to define good vs evil. Movies like the Watchmen truly emphasized the bad guy as conflicted and having to make tough choices based on their own set of morals.
This new series I think will reflect that gray area. I have a feeling the line between “good guy” and “bad guy” will be blurred. I know they will be careful to fill as many holes as possible in the story line. The acting, directing and special effects will be vastly superior.
Let’s just hope they don’t add all the improvements in the new series at a cost of the fun of the original.

V (2009) First Episode Highs and Lows

Sign me up as an Ambassador
So the first episode of the reimagining of V is over and I must say I was quite impressed. With that being said there were a few things that bothered me. Fortunately there were also a lot of things that I loved.
Let’s start with the good.
- Hot chicks. Laura Vandervoort, Morena Baccarin, Elizabeth Mitchell and Lordes Benedicto to be exact. The production team did a great job of casting.
- The plot inside the plot: The whole terrorism ring really added some flesh to the story. This won’t be a simple good vs. bad type of story. It will be difficult for the characters to decide who is friend and who is foe. Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut) coming out as a Visitor right away is very interesting also.
- Special Effects: This looked like a legit Hollywood movie. The spaceships looked great on the outside. They looked even more impressive on the inside. You could imagine yourself living on these things for years as you travel across the galaxy.
Now some of the bad.
- No pre-communication: Why the hell would they not send a signal to our leaders before showing up randomly and scaring the shit out of every human being on the planet. Plus there is the fact that unless they were traveling at almost light speed and then suddenly slowing down then we would have seen them coming thousands of miles away.
- The Visitor turned good guy Ryan is about to get engaged to a human woman: I have to ask how legitimate that is? Do they all find other species attractive? Wouldn’t that be like us dressing up like a werewolf for Halloween and then fucking a dog.
- Scott Wolf: Where did they dig this Party of Five reject up?
Anyways, if you haven’t seen the first episode yet; do it. You’ll thank me for it. (Don’t go around cutting your friends to make sure they are human though, that would be illegal.)
See the CNN story right here.
