No Brandon Roy, No Problem
Andre Miller Leads Portland To Win Over Phoenix
There is no doubt who the leader of the Portland Trailblazers is. Brandon Roy is one of the few guys in the NBA who commands respect from his teammates. So when he went down with an injury during the last week of the regular season it seemed to spell doom for Portland.
Maybe we need to hold off on declaring the Trailblazers DOA.
Andre Miller had 31 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals to lead Portland to a 105-100 win on Sunday night. Miller showed a toughness and unwillingness to lose that had to make Roy proud. The 34 year old point guard had quite possibly the most important game of his career.
Marcus Camby, 36 years old, also played his heart out. Camby had 17 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. He terrorized Suns All Star Amare Stoudemire defensively and kept him to 18 points on 19 field goal attempts. You could make a case that Camby was more important to Portland’s win than Miller. What’s evident is that they won because of two old guys.
I do think that Phoenix will eventually wear down the Trailblazers and I could see a blowout win for the Suns in game two. Who do you see winning the next contest? Can Portland win the series?

Chris Kaman Takes On Ex-Teammate Camby Tonight
Chris Kaman Looks To Continue Resurgence
Since Marcus Camby was traded on February 16th to Portland, Chris Kaman has maintained his rebounding average. His scoring however has seemed to take a hit. Kaman had his worst scoring month of the season in March averaging 14.6 points per game. His rebounding average was tied for his best month though at 9.5.
Of course it helped Kaman in the rebounding category to have Camby out of the line-up. Without another skilled big body in the middle, Kaman could grab boards at will. The scoring drought I did not see coming though and probably comes down to some fatigue after a long, disappointing NBA season. Tonight he gets a chance to take on Camby and the Trailblazers.
Kaman has scored at least twenty points in two of the last three games now and he looks like he did in the first half of the season. He is too competitive to let his teams failures keep him from working hard every night. He is the type of guy who wants to win every night, no matter how far the Clippers are behind in the standings.

Chris Kaman Looks To Break Out Of Slump
Chris Kaman is in a mini slump right now. The NBA All Star center has not scored over twenty points in the last four games and has failed to reach double figure rebounding in the last two. With Marcus Camby no longer on the team, these are numbers that I did not expect Kaman to fall to.
The latest opponent, the Charlotte Bobcats, are in a heated battle for the number six seed in the Eastern Conference. I would expect them to play passionate basketball tonight against the Clippers. With that being said, there is a great chance that Kaman ends up with sup-par numbers tonight.

Chris Kaman And The Clippers Win Three Of Five
Call it a mini resurgence or just a team playing like they should be. The Clippers have won three out of their last five games. Two of those wins (Charlotte and Utah) are against playoff caliber NBA teams.
Chris Kaman has been a big part of this stretch of good play. He is averaging 11.6 rebounds in the last five games and has scored at least 18 points in four of those games. His rebounding stats are definitely being helped by the trade of Marcus Camby to Portland. If you have Kaman on your fantasy team, play him without any reservations.
