Tom Izzo Will Take Cavs Job
It’s just my opinion, but I don’t see how Tom Izzo can turn down the chance to double his salary and coach Lebron James.
I would look for Izzo to accept the Cavs job by Monday at the latest. I’m not sure if that is a positive or negative thing in the Cavaliers pursuit of re-signing Lebron James.

Lebron, D-Wade, Bosh and Johnson To Meet
Lebron James To Talk To Three Other Player About Free Agency
This should be the best summer in NBA history. Never before have I heard of a group of free agents meeting to discuss where they plan on going to play during the next season.
That is what Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Joe Johnson plan on doing. More than likely a team could end up with two of these players and immediately become a championship contender.

What would be cool, but unlikely, is if all four decided to take pay cuts and play together. They could win six straight NBA Titles and they would all make more in endorsements than they do now. In fact I predict they would make more money overall by signing for less.
If Michael Jordan had not won multiple championships, he would not have made enough money to purchase his own NBA team. It was the sponsors who helped him accumulate that wealth. His playing salary was dwarfed by what he made from Nike, Hanes and other big corporations.
I’m excited that these four players are seeing the big picture. It’s not all about them as individuals. If some of these guys team up it helps all of them. It would make the NBA more appealing overall, which could help secure better TV contracts, thus funneling down to these players.

Lebron Decides To Keep Cavs Assistants

Lebron James (Photo by Chris Chappelear)
Lebron James must want Mike Brown’s assistant coaches to keep their jobs. If he didn’t then they would be gone. Mike Malone, Chris Jent and Melvin Hunt are still employed by the Cleveland Cavaliers and will be paid at least through the 2010-11 NBA season.
If Lebron does decide to go to the Chicago Bulls, it will be interesting what the coaching situation will look like in Cleveland. Jent has some head coaching experience and is Lebron’s personal shooting coach. Maybe he will become the new head guy in Cleveland.
Of course they could still let the trio go if Lebron James does decide to leave in free agency. The funny thing is that Mike Brown would probably be the perfect coach for the team if they have to rebuild from scratch. His coaching style would help a young team become competitive right away on the defensive end.

Chris Bosh Wants To Play With Lebron

Chris Bosh (Photo by Quadzilla99)
One thing is clear as Chris Bosh gave the Toronto Raptors his destination wish list……He really wants to play with Lebron James.
He probably saw what happened when another skilled big man without leadership skills (Pau Gasol), joined the best player in the NBA (Kobe Bryant). It was a match made in heaven.
That is what would happen if Bosh and Lebron got together. It would give give them a big man who needs pressure taken off of him, but can be the star when needed. It would also give them a star who needs to not always have to carry the team.
In other words the two would complement each other. When Lebron has an off game, Bosh could go off for 30 points and 15 rebounds. When Lebron has a triple double with 40 points, Bosh could contribute a modest 15 points and 10 rebounds.
It would also allow Chris Bosh to show how good of a defensive player he can be. Right now in Toronto he has to expend so much energy on offense that he doesn’t have anything to give on defense. I think he could average 2.5 blocks a game playing with Lebron James. I also think he could average 13 rebounds per game, forcing Dwight Howard to improve in that area to keep his crown.
I’m excited for this possibility, though it would probably have to happen in New York. I’m not a Knicks fan and don’t really want to become one, but I am a huge Lebron James fan.
Something will have to give.
