Kevin Garnett Out For Game Two

The NBA has suspended Kevin Garnett for game two of the Celtics, Heat series. Now Boston needs to try to survive on Tuesday night without their emotional leader. Glen “Big Baby” Davis should end up filling in for Garnett.

Last year Garnett missed the playoffs and Davis filled in admirably, but this season has been frustrating for the Celtics forward. He regressed in his third NBA season and saw his averages go down. That was partly due to the fact that he only started one game this season, but he still should have been able to contribute more than 6.3 points per game.

Tuesday nights game will come down to how Miami plays more than what Davis does though. If Dwyane Wade gets help from his teammates then they should win this game. If not then Boston wins this game pretty easily. No disrespect to Garnett, but his absence won’t be as much of a factor as people think.

NBA Has A Decision To Make On Garnett

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah put in his two cents on the violent elbow of Kevin Garnett when he said, “It’s unbelievable. He’s a dirty player. It’s one thing to be competitive and compete. But don’t be a dirty player, man,”. The Miami Heat players probably agree.

Now the NBA must decide whether to suspend Garnett for a game or just leave him with the two technical fouls he was assessed. This decision isn’t just about the elbow of Garnett that struck Quentin Richardson in the face. It has to do with the message that the NBA  will want to send to the rest of the league.

I think they will suspend Garnett. They will want all sixteen teams in the playoffs to know that  violent altercations will be not be tolerated.
