Chris Kaman Finishes Season Strong

Los Angeles Clippers 107 - Chris Kaman 22 pts, 7 reb, 5 blk

Los Angeles Lakers 91Pau Gasol 18 pts, 17 reb

Up And Down Season Finished For Chris Kaman

When the season started very few people thought Chris Kaman could be an All Star. In fact Kaman was not even included on the official NBA ballot. He proved a lot of people wrong as he finished the season averaging 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds.

Against the Lakers he made sure to leave a good lasting impression with 22 points and 7 rebounds. If Blake Griffin fully returns from injury next season and Kaman can become more consistent then the Clippers could have one of the best front courts in the NBA next season.

Pau Gasol Concludes A Great Season

During the course of his nine year NBA career, Pau Gasol has been a pretty consistent scorer. This season was no exception. However his rebounding average jumped considerably over his career high this year. The best Gasol had mustered in the rebounding category before this season was 9.8, but this year Gasol ended up averaging 11.2.

In the final game of the season Gasol ended up with 18 points and 17 rebounds. If the Lakers are going to win another NBA Championship, he needs to continue to play as aggressive as he has this season.

Kaman, Clippers Take Down Warriors

Chris Kaman Scores 27 In Win

The season has been a disappointment for the Los Angeles Clippers, but they did have one bright spot. That would be the emergence of Chris Kaman as one of the best centers in the NBA.

Kaman had 27 points, 10 rebounds and blocked a shot as the Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 107-104 on Saturday night. It was the third time in the last five games that Kaman had scored at least 22 points. He had a rough scoring month in March, but his April has been on pace with the rest of the season.

Kaman is having a career year. He is averaging 18.5 points per game. His previous best season was 15.7 points.  He is also having his third best rebounding season at 9.4 per game. His rebounding totals increased after the Clippers traded away Marcus Camby in February.

Stephen Curry Scores 29 In Loss, Eyes Rookie Of The Year Award

With only three games left to prove that he should be the NBA Rookie Of The Year, Stephen Curry is taking advantage of his chances. Curry had 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals against the Clippers.

The points put his season average above 17 for the first time this season. That is a little behind the 20 point average that Tyreke Evans has this season. Evans kept on pace in his quest for the rookie award with 27 points tonight against the Dallas Mavericks.

Chris Kaman Takes On Ex-Teammate Camby Tonight

Chris Kaman Looks To Continue Resurgence

Since Marcus Camby was traded on February 16th to Portland, Chris Kaman has maintained his rebounding average. His scoring however has seemed to take a hit. Kaman had his worst scoring month of the season in March averaging 14.6 points per game. His rebounding average was tied for his best month though at 9.5.

Of course it helped Kaman in the rebounding category to have Camby out of the line-up. Without another skilled big body in the middle, Kaman could grab boards at will. The scoring drought I did not see coming though and probably comes down to some fatigue after a long, disappointing NBA season. Tonight he gets a chance to take on Camby and the Trailblazers.

Kaman has scored at least twenty points in two of the last three games now and he looks like he did in the first half of the season. He is too competitive to let his teams failures keep him from working hard every night. He is the type of guy who wants to win every night, no matter how far the Clippers are behind in the standings.

Chris Kaman Has Double-Double Vs Knicks

Chris Kaman Has Best Game In Months

You have to give Chris Kaman credit for continuing to play hard. The All Star center may have gone through a scoring slump in March, but his rebounding never suffered. He has now grabbed at least 10 boards in six straight games after he had 22 points and 16 rebounds against the New York Knicks on Sunday night.

With Blake Griffin expected to be a star in his NBA career, the Clippers have a chance of having one of the best front courts in the league. Griffin was expected to be a favorite for the Rookie Of The Year this season, but he suffered an injury in the preseason and hasn’t played a game.

Note: Chris Kaman has exactly 666 rebounds on the season. If he somehow misses the rest of the season and ends on that number, do not draft him in your fantasy league next season (just kidding).
