Blake Griffin: Glass Half Full
The Clippers are within shouting distance of a .500 record. Blake Griffin could have pushed them over the hump. So how could anyone find anything positive in his season ending knee surgery?
Well I’m going to try.
First of all Chris Kaman is playing at an All-Star level and Marcus Camby has been solid all year. Their front court is good, with or without Griffin. In another year, if they can keep the team together, the Clippers could have the best front court in the NBA.
Second, the best they could probably do is get to the 7th seed in the Western Conference. That would get them a date with the Lakers, Dallas, Denver or San Antonio. Unless Blake Griffin was able to learn to play with this team real quick, they would have no chance of making it out of the first round.
With Griffin waiting till next year to start his NBA career, he will have a full season to figure out his role with the team. Without starting off in a hole, they could possibly get a top four seed (no I’m not smoking anything). Baron Davis is finally the leader he needs to be. He and Griffin will be a great duo.
So Clippers fans, dry your eyes. Your team looks really good for the future. Be patient and have faith, next year will be great.
